Year End report 2013-2014

YEAR END SUMMARY – 2013-2014

This year, we have seen long-term network members, such as John Helferty and Gail Steeds retire and we will miss their participation at our regular meetings and events and their long-term contributions to the community and clients we serve. At the same time we have welcomed many new faces and member agencies to the table, some as a result of our recruitment efforts. Our spring retreat enabled our new members to become more familiar with each other and each other’s programs & agencies. The retreat also afforded the opportunity to gather information for work planning for the upcoming year, to ensure we are meeting member’s needs and objectives. The ideas and initiatives generated from the retreat and subsequent survey will enable us to identify guests and activities in keeping with the network’s terms of reference and promise for another productive year.

Membership:

A review of membership this year enabled the network to grow with several new member agencies such as Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Ottawa, Rideauwood and the Salvation Army. The network is now over 35 members strong and there is an interesting mix of representation from various sectors who work with clients at risk or justice involved as well as programs & agencies who serve youth and their families across the Ottawa community.
